Brian Engle is the Transportation and Medical Segment Specialist for Amphenol’s Advanced Sensors Division. Brian has over 30 years of Industry experience developing new sensor technologies that benefit the transportation and medical market.

Brian holds degrees from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology and Wayne State University and holds patents in a variety of fields associated with sensors, controls, environmental protection, and safety. He recently partnered with University of Michigan’s Center for Automotive Research, General Electric, and Ford to study and develop multiphysics models of Lithium-ion battery intercalation for the US Department of Energy’s arpa-e program. The project demonstrated a 20% improvement in battery utilization and received the IEEE Control Systems Technology Award in 2016.

Brian’s many years of experience in the field of vehicle emissions effect on the environment and human health has led to his most recent efforts to improve the driving experience for vehicle operators by advancing sensor technology to monitor cabin air quality and working with OEM’s and tier 1’s to recognize and control the pollutants including particles, oxidation gases, CO2 and humidity in an efficient manner that keeps operators and occupants alert and safe.
