Laurence Dunn has worked in Automotive Electrical and Electronic Engineering for 48 years. He was born and educated in New Zealand, where he graduated from the Auckland Technical Institute. He worked for the Auckland University Physics department, in Geophysics, Nuclear Physics, and Radio Research.

He immigrated to the USA in 1981 working for various Automotive Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs. Laurence served on multiple SAE and UL standards committees as well as holding various chair positions, was a speaker at multiple automotive industry conferences in the US and overseas (Europe), and is an Advisory Board Member of the Sustainable Electrified Transportation Research Group (SELECT), a consortium of 5 universities, and 3 Government National Research Laboratories.
