Louay Eldada is the CEO and co-founder of Quanergy, the leading creator of high performing, reliable, low-cost LiDAR sensors. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Optoelectronics, all from Columbia University. Dr. Eldada is a serial entrepreneur, having founded and sold three businesses to Fortune 100 companies, and a technical business leader with a proven track record at both small and large companies. With 70 patents, he is a recognized expert in quantum optics, nanotechnology, photonic integrated circuits, advanced optoelectronics, sensors and robotics. Prior to Quanergy, Dr. Eldada served as CSO of SunEdison and CTO of HelioVolt (acquired by SK Energy), DuPont Photonic Technologies, and Telephotonics (later acquired by DuPont). Louay has received many awards in his field throughout his career, including IEEE Outstanding Speaker Award in both 2002 and 2009, an Innovation Award from the Austin Chamber of Commerce, and a Technical Innovation Award from the Austin Business Journal.
